The 2012 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic will occur on December 21, 2012, according to Mayan calendar. According the Maya calendar, we live in the Fourth world and this world began 5125 years ago, when the Third world ends. On December 21, 2012 the Fourth world will end, as described in Maya Long Count. At this day the Fourth world will be destroyed and will began the Fifth world.
There are so many theories about the End of the world and many of them didn't happen. Almost every year we have new prediction about the End of the world. Just remember the prediction of Nostradamus, or the recent prediction that make many people to believe, that the world will end on 21 of May 2011. There were many speculations that the world will end on October 23, 2011. Also we had prediction, that the end of the world will come Yesterday - 11.11.2011.
